More About the Producer
The idea of Migoti Coffee Company was conceived in 2015 by two engineers during long car trips across Burundi. Their goal was to connect local Burundian coffee farmers, through quality coffee processing and transparent supply chains, with buyers and roasters from around the world. Dan and Pontien, both born in Burundi, desire to see coffee-producing communities economically transformed, with coffee as a catalyst for the growth.
Nyabiraba Hill Natural is grown by smallholder farmers on the hill and supplied as ripe cherries to Migoti’s newer station called Kinama. The station was started in 2022 with only drying tables, and thus only naturals were produced at the station in 2022 and 2023. A wet mill, warehouse and offices were built at the station in 2023.
